I recently had the chance to create a coat for Kyle Falconer the lead signer of indie rock band The View.  The finished piece was made in time to coincide with The View's 10th anniversary tour, 'Hat's off to the buskers - A decade of dreams, romance and excess'.  The tour kicked off with 6 sold out shows at King Tut's infamous venue in Glasgow, breaking the previous record held for almost a decade by Idlewild.  The tour is set to continue  throughout the rest of the UK in May.

After speaking to Kyle we worked out some of the finer specifications.  It was kept quite simple taking on some key musical influences and made lightweight enough to wear while playing on stage.

The jacket features include; two outer patch pocket, small inner pocket (concealed under the outer pocket), back vent to allow movement, mandarin style collar underlined in paisley print, unique raised horizontal stitch detailing at back, chest and sleeve cuffs, inner paisley trimmed and bound seams, four down press stud fastening with signature 'KerrieALDO' logo at lower left sleeve.

A lot of the detailing on this style is quite subtle and many of the features are concealed on the inside meaning that it can't be truly appreciated until you have had a closer look.  Here are some photos to show it off in a bit more detail.

Horizontal top stitch detail.
Inner collar paisley detail.

Inner paisley trim detailing.
Inner collar and back seam paisley detail.
