The Frontiers Raincoat

This is an exclusive design for Frontiers Woman in Edinburgh. If you don’t already know of this shop then it’s worth checking out, you won’t be disappointed, I have added a bit more information about the shop and linked it below too.

The Frontiers Raincoat before it left the KerrieALDO studio.

Frontiers is an independent store which was opened in 1990 focussing on hard-to-find, good quality and well-made products, embracing all types of women at any age.

After many successful years on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, a move across town to the West End Village followed in 2007, and with a larger store, more emphasis was placed on developing the original concept. Footwear and accessories were added – all selected just as carefully as the clothing brands.
I’ve collaborated with Frontiers to create an exclusive coat which is now available from their beautiful shop in Edinburgh.

Each coat was expertly handcrafted using crisp black watch tartan hybrid waxed cotton.

Handcrafted by KerrieALDO, the Frontiers Raincoat pairs artisan skills and attention to detail with the original performance fabric, waxed cotton.

The coat is made with 100% cotton Blackwatch Tartan hybrid dry waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons, the fabric is breathable, weather repellent and will build character with each and every wear.

Established in 1864, Halley Stevensons of Dundee are the world's leading manufacturers and innovators in waxed and weatherproofed fabrics.

I love how the final design has turned out after making a couple of tweaks along the way to make sure it was the perfect fit and style. It is made from start to finish in the KerrieALDO studio and is a limited batch.

Give Frontiers a follow on Instagram here and if you’re in Edinburgh be sure to give them a visit too, you won’t be disappointed 👌🏼

Below you will see me documenting one of the two boxes being ready to be sent off to the shop, it is always a good feeling when a big project like this is complete. We started discussing this idea many months ago and developed the design with a couple of design samples before going ahead with the making. It has been a pleasure to create this design for Frontiers.
